All beaches in Mexico are public property. There are many fancy beach clubs where the tourist can to rent out lounge chairs and umbrellas, also numerous access points to the beach all along the coast but actually the beach is for everyone.
Also the beach recovery project in Playa del Carmen started in January, 2010 has been successfully completed and the beach is now wide than ever, with fantastic sand quality.

. The cenotes were considered sacred by the Maya and played an important role in their rites. Believing that these pools were gateways to the

feasts.
